Xhaka makes things tick with his smart but simple passing just don’t expect too many goals or assists, he’s here to keep things tidy – if he can keep his discipline. 11 Attacking midfield: Mesut Ozil – It was a mixed Euro 2016 for the German midfielder, who grabbed a goal and an assist in France but saw his displays marred by two penalty misses. However, he will be keen to build on a Premier League campaign which saw him create 19 goals and score six times. 11 Left-back: Ricardo Rodriguez – This transfer rumour has gone a little quiet but it’s undoubtedly one which can still be done. This Swiss star is keen to quit Wolfsburg and may want to join his international team-mate Granit Xhaka in north London. He’d be an excellent upgrade, especially given his set-piece ability. 11 11 After a period of calm, the Arsenal transfer rumours are coming thick and fast.Arsene Wenger was always going to do some big business this summer, even after signing Granit Xhaka for £30million from Borussia Monchengladbach.A striker, a winger and a defender appear high on the Frenchman’s wishlist as he attempts to win the Premier League in what could be his last ever campaign with the Gunners. So what would Wenger’s team look like based on current rumours? He’s been a mainstay in Serie A for two seasons but Arsenal may need to battle Chelsea for his signature. Central midfield: Aaron Ramsey – Off the back of an incredible Euro 2016, the Welshman must now prove he is the man to lead the Gunners to a Premier League title. He’s offered excellence in patches but now must be consistent for an entire campaign to truly prove himself. 11 11 Goalkeeper: Petr Cech – Click the right arrow above to see how Arsenal could line up next season… – A brilliant debut season for the Gunners, Cech was exactly what the doctor ordered at the Emirates. Without the ex-Chelsea star it’s doubtful they would have sneaked into second spot in the Premier League table. 11 Right-back: Hector Bellerin – Now a fully-fledged first-team star, the Spaniard must continue to excel and develop his considerable talent at the Emirates. A starting role with his national team is his next target and should spur him on. Centre-back: Laurent Koscielny – Unlucky not to win Euro 2016 with home nation France, Koscielny will be a man on a mission as he hunts for more silverware. He is the rock Arsene Wenger will build around for the coming campaign. Right wing: Riyad Mahrez – The Leicester City title winner and last season’s PFA’s Players’ Player of the Year is believed to have turned down a new deal at the King Power Stadium. This could pave the way for a move to Arsenal, if they manage to hold off a challenge from Barcelona who are also interested in the talented Algerian. Left wing: Alexis Sanchez – The Chilean’s confidence will be high coming off the back of another Copa America win, where he was named player of the tournament. If he can take this into the new season, he could help the Gunners compete for the Premier League title. 11 Striker: Carlos Bacca – Olivier Giroud is still dividing opinion, while the Gunners have already missed out on Jamie Vardy and are highly unlikely to sign target Gonzalo Higuain at the this moment in time. This has left Wenger checking on the availability of Colombian striker Bacca, who netted 18 times for AC Milan last season.last_img read more
