Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is out of contract in 2021 and the Gunners have identified Edouard as a possible long-term replacement for the Gabon international, but Celtic are determined to keep hold of their prized possession. This will be historic for the club.‘It’s very important for the club, for the fans, for the team, for all of the staff. ‘We now need to go back to work for next season and I hope that we can win this title for 10 in-a-row.’center_img Aubameyang is out of contract at Arsenal in 2021 (Picture: Getty)Arsenal legend Charlie Nicholas, who also enjoyed two spells with Celtic, has been massively impressed with Edouard and believes the striker would make a good like-for-like replacement for Alexandre Lacazette, rather than Aubameyang, at the Emirates.‘He could certainly play at Arsenal because the way they play, his style would be more than suitable for it,’ Nicholas told Sky Sports.‘The problem is getting the judgement right over whether he’s ready right now, playing every week for Arsenal compared to who is there already.‘I’m a big fan of Alexandre Lacazette, and Edouard has got quite a bit of Lacazette in style within his game. The reason is that in Scotland, Celtic are gauging him as a £40m player. ‘This will come down to what Edouard wants. If he wants to leave, then he will leave. Celtic will take the cash rather than have a player who is not committed to the cause because historically that’s what they have done – with [Moussa] Dembele, Virgil van Dijk and Kieran Tierney.’Follow Metro Sport across our social channels, on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
