Though Dave Matthews Band is on an extended hiatus, their leading man continues to turn up in support of important causes. Dave Matthews has done it again, announcing the “Stand With Standing Rock” benefit concert at the DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, DC on November 27th. Dave Matthews will be performing at the event, with further artists to be announced soon. The concert will benefit the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, in solidarity against their opposition to the Dakota Pipeline. “How can we continue to allow oil money to dictate our environmental and social policies? The people of Standing Rock, and those who are supporting them, are standing up for their children and all of our children,” said Dave Matthews in a statement. “We are letting the Dakota pipeline silence their voices. Not only are they desecrating sacred lands, but they also threaten to poison the Missouri River.”“Stand With Standing Rock” will raise funds for supplies, legal assistance, and any other needs to the “water protectors” who have been occupying an area near the pipeline since April. The benefit also includes grassroots efforts in Washington, DC on the following Monday, November 28th.Tickets for the DMB Warehouse Fan Association members are on sale now here, and the general on-sale begins this Friday, November 4th, at 10 AM Eastern at Ticketmaster.
