Tony Winner Andrea Martin to Return to Broadway in Noises Off

first_img Noises Off Star Files View Comments Tony and Emmy Award winner Andrea Martin is to star as Dotty in the new revival of Michael Frayn’s Noises Off on Broadway. Directed by Jeremy Herrin, the previously reported Roundabout production will play a limited engagement at the American Airlines Theatre starting in January 2015, once The Real Thing completes its run. Full dates, cast and creative team will be announced shortly.Martin received Tony awards for her performances in the current Broadway revival of Pippin and My Favorite Year. Other credits include Fiddler on the Roof, Young Frankenstein, Exit the King, Oklahoma!, Candide and Godspell. Martin earned two Emmy awards for her writing and creation of sketch comedy characters on SCTV. Other screen credits include The Simpsons, Anastasia, The Rugrats Movie, 30 Rock, Nurse Jackie, The Producers, Wag the Dog, Hedwig and the Angry Inch and My Big Fat Greek Wedding. She will next return to Broadway in Act One and be seen on screen in the forthcoming feature film Night at the Museum 3 and the TV series Working the Engels.Noises Off, a hilarious play-within-a-play, follows an ambitious director named Lloyd Davis and his troupe of mediocre actors as they blunder from a bad dress rehearsal to a spectacularly disastrous performance. The cast and crew are putting together a silly sex comedy titled, Nothing On—a single-set farce in which lovers frollic, doors slam, clothes are tossed away and embarrassing hi-jinks ensue. Noises Off premiered on Broadway in 1983 and was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Play.
