Jimmy Doherty who has been in Dominica for the past two weeks filming a programme on whales off the shores of Dominica is reminding the country that the Health of the whales impacts on the health of the sea on which we all depend. Jimmy’s adventure will be made into a 90 minute documentary for channel 4 in the United Kingdom. Part of Jimmy’s effort to ensure that Whales are kept safe in Dominica a mural supported by Harris paints was painted on the northern wall of the Roseau city council office symbolizing the core of the message. “We have been here for two weeks and our mission is to find out more about your fantastic sperm whales, what they eat, what are their lives like…Dominica is blessed with natural beauty. After filming here for two weeks we wanted to leave something that everyone can enjoy,” he said.Meantime, Mayor of Roseau Cecil Joseph has called on Dominicans to preserve our waters in other to keep whales safe. “It is always important to preserve specie. I can Say that Dominica is very lucky to have some of the best sets of whales in the world.
